New York Times Feature: “I Love Paraguay, an Ode to a Homeland”

We were beyond thrilled to recieve a surprise visit from The New York Times! This incredible opportunity allowed us to showcase the hard work, passion, and heart that define our restaurant to one of the world’s most influential outlets. It was truly a proud and unforgettable moment for our entire team.

During their visit, we had the chance to share the rich history of our restaurant—how it all began, the inspiration behind our menu, and our mission to bring the authentic flavors of Paraguay to life here in the U.S.

Of course, the highlight was introducing them to the essence of Paraguayan cuisine. They sampled some of our signature dishes, including Chipa Guazu, Mbeju, Sandwich de Lomito, Bife a Caballo, our beloved Vori Vori soup, and our classic tortillas. To round out their culinary experience, they indulged in our homemade desserts, falling in love with our Arroz con Leche, Budín, Flan, and the uniquely Paraguayan Dulce de Batata.

The response was overwhelmingly positive, and their appreciation for our food and culture left us deeply moved. We can’t wait to welcome them back to try even more of the delicious, traditional Paraguayan dishes we take such pride in preparing.

We invite you to read the article, “I Love Paraguay, an Ode to a Homeland,” by Cassandra Giraldo for The New York Times. It beautifully captures the essence of Paraguay, our restaurant, and the flavors that bring our homeland closer to those who long for it.

Thank you to The New York Times for this incredible opportunity to share our story and the taste of Paraguay with the world!
